Press release from the City of Fargo: December 22, 2020 The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for the Fargo area from 3 a.m. Wednesday, December 23 through 9 p.m. Wednesday evening. Based on the forecast, Fargo Public Works is expecting freezing rain or snow to begin at 6 a.m. within the city. Due to the timing of this event, road surfaces could become extremely icy during the morning commute and residents should be prepared for rapidly changing conditions. As soon as precipitation begins, de-icing equipment will be utilized to maintain safe driving conditions, specifically on high-priority routes. Residential roads may not be addressed until after the morning commute. Please drive with caution and expect traffic delays. Conditions are expected to improve by early afternoon, but depending on snow accumulation and wind impacts, the afternoon commute may also be affected. It is recommended drivers check road conditions prior to travel, especially if planning to travel outside of the city. For safety reasons, please give snow removal equipment as much room as possible and be patient as crews work diligently to clear the roadways. This press release was produced by the City of Fargo.
