757 Creative Reuse Center hosts an informative discussion, demonstration and project reflecting the history of cross stitching and quilting From the Underground Railroad quilt blocks to African Free School cross stitch samplers, African Americans have a rich history in the needlearts. Today’s stitchers continue to honor that tradition and heritage in very unique ways. Deb Rucker (@StitchesOfHeritage on Instagram) guides you through historical stitching to the current original designs that continue to reflect diversity in stitching. The presentation will be followed by attendee participation in a hands-on project. All ages are invited.
