An evening concert with the Mobile Singing Children, one of the nations premier children's choruses.
Founded in 1977, Mobile's Singing Children is the premier youth chorus on the Gulf Coast consisting of exceptionally talented and dedicated singers in grades 2-12. The non-profit organization directs four auditioned choirs: Preparatory, Intermezzo, Concert and Encore! The Concert Choir represents MSC’s touring singers who have developed their theory and vocal skills through participation in the younger choirs.
Under the direction of Susan Hoitt, Concert Choir has performed in impressive venues throughout the country including Carnegie Hall and St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York. The group has also been invited as guest performers for several prestigious conferences including the Alabama Music Educator Conference, Mississippi Music Educator Conference, American Choral Director Conference and most recently, the Southern Invitational Conductor Conference. MSC also performs regularly with the Mobile Symphony Orchestra and the Mobile Opera.
Mobile’s Singing Children is thrilled to have the opportunity to tour in Texas and perform at Galveston First Presbyterian Church. The performance will include songs from a variety of musical genres including classical, contemporary and pop. The audience will enjoy Stroope's “Magnificat,” Franck's “Panis Angelicus,” Wong's “Wau Bulan,” Paul Simon's “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and much more.
