You can help by volunteering, donating items, or doing both! How to Volunteer Saturday May 21, 10:30 am-12:30 pm (meet at 10:00 am in the parking lot behind Northville Sports Den to carpool). Volunteering takes place at Center for the Works of Mercy, 8642 Woodward Ave., Detroit This is a fantastic opportunity to volunteer with other alumni while tangibly giving back to the community. Volunteers will unload donations, sort items, restock clothing, and organize and build food kits for a senior outreach program.Volunteers should meet up at 10:00 am at the van in the parking lot behind the Northville Sports Den to carpool to Detroit. Volunteer shift 2 hours (10:30 am-12:30 pm).If possible, please wear a Michigan hat, sweatshirt, t-shirt, etc. to help identify our group. Please bring a bag of items to donate (optional). See list of desired items below. Kids age 12+ are welcome if accompanied by a parent.Advance signup is required to volunteer. There are only 15 spots, so please sign up only if you are sure you can attend.How to Donate Items Saturday May 21, 8:00 am-10:00 am Drop off donations at the van in the parking lot behind the Northville Sports Den. Mercy Clothing Closet can accept the following Items: Spring and summer clothing (shoes, boots, hoodies, jeans, light jackets, t-shirts, tops, skirts, etc.)Accessories and linens (blankets, sheets, socks, undergarments, etc.)Unopened hygiene items (hotel items, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.)High priority for all men's clothing and larger sizes for womenWe CANNOT accept household items or toysDonated items must be washed and clean and without tears, stains, or permeated odors. Please respect the clients who receive the items by donating items you would consider purchasing at a thrift store.
