Description

Press release from the Camden County Prosecutor: May 10, 2022 Today, May 10th, marks the first National Fentanyl Awareness Day. We encourage everyone to help prevent opioid overdoses by spreading awareness of the growing fentanyl public health crisis. It's vital that we continue to share information to combat future overdoses while supporting the loved ones in our community who continue to struggle with addiction. For those unfamiliar with fentanyl, it is a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. Illegally made fentanyl is a growing threat in the U.S. and is a major contributor to fatal and nonfatal overdoses. Together we can spread awareness and support those who may be in need of addiction or other services. For more information, please visit: www.fentanylawarenessday.org. Released May 10, 2022. This press release was produced by the Camden County Prosecutor. The views expressed here are the author's own.
