Description

Go 'all-in' for the animals with an evening of fun, food, drinks, auctions, and a variety of casino tables for your enjoyment! Romelia Farms Wildlife Preserve is a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Merritt Island, Florida. Acquired by the Graves family on July 29th, 2021, the property is home to 160+ farm and exotic animals including horses, goats, camels, alpacas, sloths, woodchucks, emus, cows, donkeys, porcupines, an anteater, and more! Immediately upon taking ownership of the property we realized that the conditions in which the animals were living was less than ideal. Immediately after assessing the situation, we began implementing a variety of necessary and overdue changes such as adjusting diets, providing medical treatment for an assortment of ailments, rebuilding enclosures, restoring pastureland, providing quality enrichment, and improving the overall guest experience. However, these are just the first items of what’s proving to be a very long checklist. There are many changes that still need to be made in order to give these animals the home they need and deserve, and we cannot make them a reality for our animals without the help of our community. The next items on our checklist are to: Clear and develop the newly acquired property next door in order to create a direct entrance from Courtenay Parkway and build a larger, separate parking lot for our guests. Doing so will eliminate the need for guests to enter the property through the neighborhood off of Gator Drive and will also give us the opportunity to utilize the current parking area for our animals.Source and build a 24-stable, state-of-the-art horse barn in the location of the current parking lot. Our horses currently have no stalls or stables to go to- only a small pole barn for cover. Constructing a dedicated horse barn will afford us the opportunity to provide shelter, stables, and supply storage for all 8 of our horses; board up to 12 additional horses; and expand our horse rescue program to include room for 4 more rescues. Cultivating a successful horse boarding program is imperative to sustaining the farm for years to come, as it grants us an opportunity to supplement the often-irregular income received from ticket sales alone. To help raise the estimated $350,000 to complete these vital projects, we’re hosting our 2nd Annual All-In for the Animals Gala on Saturday, October 1st, 2022, that will include a live auction hosted by Sheriff Wayne Ivey, a silent auction, dinner, drinks, and (of course) blackjack, craps, and roulette tables for your enjoyment! We need your help to build the home that these animals so desperately need and deserve, as we cannot do this without the support and generosity of the members of our community. By purchasing one of our sponsorship, table, or ticket packages, you’re directly ensuring a brighter and healthier future for our animals. 100% of the money raised goes to these projects and to improving our wildlife preserve. Your support and generosity mean a lot to us, but to the animals we have the honor of caring for- it means everything.
