Cumulus Clouds Float Over Lush Vineyard, Windmills: Photo Of The Week

LIVERMORE, CA — While stunning is not usually the first word that comes to mind about weather, Glenn Stewart certainly snapped a photo of clouds in a bright blue sky that fits that description. According to Stewart, the photo is of cumulus clouds over the Altamont Pass, which he was quick enough to capture near South Livermore Avenue and Concannon Boulevard. He added that the gorgeous green vineyard that the photo overlooks is specifically the Concannon Vineyard and that those windmills in the distance are Altamont windmills. Great thinking snapping this photo at just the right moment with all of these different beautiful aspects within one photo! The clouds seem to be floating in a cluster, almost forming a shelf in the middle of the sky. Peaceful blue above and below them, but dreamy white pillows comprise the cloud band. As Stewart described this type of clouds, they are "puffy" and "cotton-like," which makes them seem even more like a nice place for a dreamy nap. Those windmills do seem pretty pointy though, so maybe it isn't the best spot to catch up on sleep after all. Thanks for sending in this dreamy photo with such a range of beautiful areas!
