BUCKINGHAM, PA — Fourth-graders at a Buckingham school raised more than $1,000 for the Bucks County SPCA this school year, dedicating themselves to volunteering for animals in need. Kids at Buckingham Friends School take on a Yearlong Service-Learning Project as a class. Together, this class created dog treats, cat toys, and small animal treats in addition to their fundraising efforts. "Thank you to the fourth graders at Buckingham Friends School for donating over $1,000 to our shelters and making fun enrichment toys for our dogs, cat, and small animals!" shelter representatives wrote. The help of community volunteers is always a boon to the BCSPCA, which also recently put out a call for kitten food via their digital wishlist. The Lahaska Animal Care Center at 1665 Street Rd and the Upper Bucks Shelter at 60 Reservoir Road are both open for walk-ins Monday - Friday from 12 p.m - 6 p.m. and on weekends from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Be the first to know what's going on in Buckingham when you subscribe to Patch.
