Description

LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange is planning to spend $179,000 on new signs at the town's gateways. On Monday, the Village Board voted for a contract with Woodridge-based Western Remac to make that happen. "If you enter a town, you are often greeted by a lovely sign or a not so lovely sign letting you know where you are," Trustee Beth Augustine told her colleagues. "La Grange has a few of these on the main entrances into our village. They are very old. Some are downright decrepit. But this will soon change." The village has been looking at the issue of new signs for five years. Gateway signs are planned for La Grange and Plainfield roads, 47th Street and Bluff Avenue, Ogden and East avenues, Brewster Avenue and La Grange Road, Ogden Avenue and Edgewood Avenue, 47th Street and Gilbert Avenue, and Willow Springs Road, near the La Grange hospital.
