Description
GILROY, CA — The Gilroy City Council will hold a public hearing Monday on allocating public service grants for the 2022-23 fiscal year.
An estimated $470,000 in community development block grants is expected to be awarded to Gilroy from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, according to a staff report.
The item was also discussed at the last council meeting May 2, but was continued to Monday.
The city's Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization Committee recommended that the council provide funds for only the top six applicants that it ranked: Live Oak Adult Day Services, Community Agency for Resources Advocacy and Services, Project Sentinel Inc., St. Joseph's Family Center, The Health Trust and St. Joseph's Family Center.
But city staff recommended spreading out the funds throughout more public service organizations.
