Press release from Jackson County Prosecutor: May 10, 2022 A Jackson County jury has convicted an Independence man, 36, of multiple child-sex charges related to sexual abuse of children 11- and 12-years old, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today. The jury late Friday convicted Glenn M. McGinnis, dob: 10/8/1985, of five counts of Statutory Sodomy 1st Degree, Attempted Statutory Rape 1st Degree, Attempted Statutory Rape First Degree, two counts of Statutory Rape 2nd Degree.* The defendant will be sentenced by a Jackson County judge on June 10. According to court records, child victims told forensic interviewers at the Child Protection Center that the defendant had touched their private areas. A second victim, 12, disclosed to Children's Division investigators that the defendant had touched her inappropriately.
