Description
actually, there is no band called Holly Thatchet that I'm aware of, and I haven't even taking the time to learn one entire Molly Hatchet song yet, I'm just a bored amateur musician with a vision. "Holly Thatchet" could be a huge success, just what this snowflake generation needs to hear to jolt them out of their depression, and a big draw for old timers who just want to feel good again. I've got a great place to practice, with a modest drum, bass, guitar and vocals setup, inside a covered, in ground pool house, (45x25ft) or inside a spacious living room (16x45ft), in a rural but easy to get to location off the interstate. I think I could do a good enough Danny Joe Brown impersonation, and play drums, bass or rythym guitar good enough to get the project started. Got to have some mules though, for that 3 guitar attack, I'm not an advanced enough lead guitarist to handle most of their stuff, although to my ear it sound like they used the same patterns pretty regularly, just worked the crap out of them. And this project could go a lot of ways, it could be bluegrass versions of their songs, the classic interpretation, or a combination of the two. The stage show could have just dressed casual, or in classic MH style, long hair, mirrored shades, headbands and such, haha, or overalls and straw hats for a bluegrass version. Rolland had that guitar sounding like a Charlie Daniels fiddle run down the neck often times. so it could go a lot of ways, depending upon the first person or two who's crazy enough to want to try it with me. some songs I'd want to do: Big Apple Gator Country Dreams I'll Never See All Over Now Flirtin 'with Disaster Good Rockin' Whiskey Man Let the Good Times Roll One Man's Pleasure Junkin' City Just consider some of the lyrics to "Boogie No More" : Oh, People, baby, what's the matter with you? Your feet, they ain't leaving' the ground. Don't you just want to get up, babe, Hearing this rocking sound? Don't you just want to jump on up, And kick your chairs out of the way? OOh we're going to rock you, baby, Rock you till the break of day. It may not be the early 80s anymore, with me riding around in my 72 Firebird listening to MH on the bootleg tape I made off the album I had bought. But dang, we are all going to turn into snowflakes if we can't remember how to Boogie no more. No offesnse intended to you young folks out there reading my ad. I'd love for the response to be so great, and find a guy who can do a better Danny Joe imitation than I can, and I could just produce the whole thing. Got to have some mules, fiddle or lead guitar, that's critical. when "Danny Joe" threatens to turn these boys loose on you one time, he's gotta mean it, need some guys who can tear it up. The pool house, one of the places we could practice at, is in this video I made after I built it and before I expanded it and moved the music stuff out there. https://vimeo.com/535221724 I think a got a few of my original songs on my video page still, not many, I've got around 60 originals written and recorded the last 8 years, classic rock, christian inspired stuff, not here to promote them though, just a point on depending who I meet, the project could go a lot of different directions, and something not like this at all. respond by email, but I probably won't be able to reply back until late tomorrow, thanks
