Position: Restoration Technician I (laborer/crew member) Function: Construction labor Primary Purpose Under the direction of site foreman, provide physical support for the construction and planting of environmental restoration projects. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Lift and set up pumps with all associated hose assemblies. This includes ensuring pumps are fueled and routinely maintained on site (oil, air filter, pull cord, etc.). • Install and maintain erosion and sediment controls, i.e. matting, fence, seed, and straw. • Provide daily support to layout leader and heavy equipment operators, which may include preventative maintenance, regular service, and planning of site specific tasks. • Conduct traffic control, as necessary • Perform general site upkeep, including trash pickup and removal from the site and work area on a daily basis. • Perform work in compliance with the Company’s protocols and safety standards. • Consider/pursue opportunities that support the company’s social impact objectives Minimum Qualifications: • HS diploma is preferred • Reliable source of transportation to various job sites • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate driver’s license • Must demonstrate a positive attitude and a commitment to effective customer-service • Ability to move and lift 50 to 70 pounds on a frequent basis with an occasional need to lift over 70 pounds • Ability to work outside for prolonged periods under extreme weather conditions • Drug test and DOT physical required • Stream restoration, landscaping, or storm water experience is preferred Working Conditions: Typically, restoration technicians will be outside for extended periods or entire work days. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures or other weather extremes may be routine. This frequently is very physical work. Lifting of heavy objects is a regular activity.
