WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police on Friday arrested and charged a local man in connection to the stabbing of a bus driver earlier this week along Lincoln Street. Police said Dashaun Stokes-Sims turned himself in on Friday. He was charged with armed assault with intent to murder, mayhem and assault and battery with a weapon causing serious injury. The stabbing happened around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday near the Denny's restaurant near Lincoln Plaza. Police said the attacker got on the bus and stabbed the driver, then ran. The incident drew a large police response to the busy Lincoln Street shopping area. Police said the bus driver's injuries were not life-threatening, although he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
