PEOPLE DIRECT - DEL MAR FAIR JANITORIAL/GENERAL LABORER Job Title: Janitorial/General Laborer Hourly Pay Rate: $15.50 Weekly Schedule: Wednesday-Sunday (Morning shift: 7am-3:30pm; Swing shift: 3pm-11:30pm) Assignment Length: June 8th-July 4th $25 referral bonus IF the referral completes 40 hours of work their first week on the job Job Overview: This position performs a variety of manual labor in the maintenance of the grounds and the facilities Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following: •Setups and teardown events including, but not limited to, setting tables, chairs, furniture, stage pieces, livestock pens, horse jumps, fence lines, and crowd control barriers. •Collects and sorts trash, recyclables, construction, and landscape debris using proper material disposal and recycling procedures. •Cleans and maintains horse stables and livestock barns using hand tools, wheel barrels, and other equipment. •Helps with office and room setups by moving furniture and stacking materials or supplies. •Assists with basic landscaping duties such as mowing, watering, raking, and weed control. •Practices good physical work methods, utilizes good work habits, and meets established production standards. •Operates a variety of equipment and tools for cleanup, maintenance, and event tasks. •Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains offices, breakrooms, buildings, restrooms, eating areas, and other common areas. •Dusts, cleans, and sanitizes counters, doorknobs, light switches, furniture, handrails, etc. •Vacuums, cleans, and shampoos carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, draperies, etc. •Sweeps, mops, sanitizes, scrubs, waxes, and buffs floors. •Gathers and disposes waste materials and trash properly in disposal area, replaces liners, and cleans receptacles as necessary. •Restocks supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas. •Maintains janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, organized condition. •Uses standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment to complete tasks. •Uses various cleaning and sanitizing tools and equipment by following occupational hazard prevention and safety rules. •Secures potentially hazardous area (e.g., wet floor, leaking ceiling) using signs, caution tape, or barricades. •Wears proper personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, googles) and always work in a safe work environment. •Performs other related duties as assigned or requested when needed. Qualifications •Exerts physical effort in doing assigned duties •Knowledge of general cleaning. •Follows oral and written instructions. •Dependable and customer service focused Working Conditions •Work is performed indoors and outdoors. •Involves exposure to dust, dirt, and unpleasant odors. •Stands, walks, and/or moves for sustained periods. •Lift a minimum of 25 lbs. •Works a flexible schedule including nights, weeke3nds, and holidays when necessary.
