I would say that 95% percent of musicians in Albuq are not flakes, you just run into a crowd that makes it seem that way. the musicians who do their home work, and show up to rehearsal prepared and show up to gigs ready to go are probably already playing in a working band or two. and may already have their hands full. There are some great musicians in this city, very talented but of your not gigging on a regular basis and making money they will take their talents elsewhere. those same musicians can help you do a gig with a simple rehearsal or two before a gig but that is all your going to get because they have another gig next week with someone else and they will need to be paid. hang in there and keep working it, you will find the guys you need.
