I'm adding a guest house to my property. I need to connect it to the existing water and sewage systems. I would like the work that I will do to be to code, and to be functional. Questions: - what are the code-specific things about which I'd need to be aware for both - what are the practical "gotchas" on both I'm really doing this on a super-tight budget - I can't just hire a plumber for the whole thing as much as I'd like to. In any case, most of the work is grunt labor that I'm happy to do - digging the trenches, buying supplies, assembling the long pipe runs. I'm happy to pay $100 for half an hour of consulting time on the phone where I'll give a summary of what exists in detail, and ask about the areas above. You'd need to be a licensed plumber in Oregon, so I can make sure the code items you're referencing are correct.
