WALKING CANE STOLEN ON LUDINGTON AVE.

Escanaba MI

Description

I accidentally dropped my walking cane in a parking spot in front of the St. Vincent De Paul store on Ludington Avenue in Escanaba on Friday September 3, 2021. As we were leaving the store, my cane accidentally dropped out of our car that was parked right in front of the store. Within two minutes after we left, I realized that my cane had dropped out of the car, and so we immediately went right back to our parking spot. But when we got there, my cane was gone because someone had obviously taken my cane almost immediately. I believe that person had actually seen me walking with the cane. That person just kept my cane, which is theft. The "finder" did not do the decent thing by taking it into the store so it could be returned to its owner. The cane has a twisted wood shaft and has very obvious wear and use, and it was a valuable personal gift from a loved one. The cane looks just as if its real owner used it every day, which I did! I need to use a cane to walk. If you took my cane, or you know who did, the cane can be returned to the St. Vincent De Paul store. NOTE: If you are visiting Escanaba from "outside", be wary. You might be a target. Don't set anything down in public places. Lock all your car doors. You might be better off just passing on through.
