Custodial / Porter Position - LaGuardia Airport

Job Summary: We are in search of energetic candidate for a custodial position. The applicant will be responsible for general cleanliness of non-public offices (no restrooms) at LaGuardia Airport, near Terminal A. Additionally, the applicant must be able to fill in at JFK Airport if necessary. The applicant must be able to work effectively with a team as well as work independently. Additionally, the applicant must be able comprehend and following written or verbal directions. The applicant MUST be reliable and have a positive attitude. The following are the essential functions our custodians are responsible for: • Empty waste baskets and replace liners • Sweep and mop all tile areas • Vacuum carpets • Wipe down doors and doorknobs • Dust windowsills, baseboards, and ledges • Wipe/dust all furniture (including desk, tables, and chairs) • Refill paper towel dispenser • Remove wall scuff marks Schedule: Mon-Fri, 4-5hrs a day (mid-day, some flexibility) and 2hrs on both Sat/Sun. Typical Physical Activity: • Physical demands consist of standing, walking, bending, and reaching Qualifications/Education/Work Experience: • Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial work preferred but not required.
