This exciting night will feature food and drinks, as well as music and performances. We will have art and other items auctioned. A night of entertainment highlighting the artistic talents of our community members. In addition to fundraising, the gala will also serve as an opportunity for us to celebrate the ongoing achievements and tireless efforts of our community behind and beyond the prison walls. The Prison + Neighborhood Arts/Education Project is a visual arts and education project that connects teaching artists and scholars to incarcerated students at Stateville Maximum Security Prison through classes, workshops, a policy think tank, and guest lectures. For the last 11 years PNAP has taught over 85 classes in Stateville Prison and hosted 10 exhibitions and numerous events across Chicago. In 2019, for the first time in 20 years, seven students in prison obtained their bachelor’s degrees from Northeastern Illinois University with our support. This year PNAP also held numerous community events uplifting the students' work and supporting community members who have been released.
