JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: - Primarily responsible for all warehouse operations; to include shipping, receiving and storing household goods. - Manage and delegate to others those duties needed for efficient warehouse operations. - Maintain warehouse facilities; ensuring housekeeping and equipment maintenance is completed as required. - Provide information and reports to management, as required. - Ensure proper storage and safeguarding of property. - Oversee incoming and outgoing property movement, and manage scheduling of shipments. - Work with drivers and labor to ensure proper procedures are followed with regard to loading and unloading property. - Ability to solve problems independently and in a group setting. - Create and implement procedures to unload, load, and store all incoming and outgoing shipments safely and efficiently. - Review warehouse layout and product storage to maximize handling efforts. - Continually monitors personnel hours to ensure that the proper manpower count needed to handle the incoming/outgoing shipments is maintained. - Monitors warehouse handling procedures to ensure warehouse claims are at the lowest level possible. - Trains and develops warehouse personnel to achieve departmental objectives and to increase a given employee's capacity to assume additional responsibilities in the future. - Will handle household moving functions as need. QUALIFICATIONS: - Working knowledge of supply chain, customer service, transportation and warehousing. - 5+ years experience in a high volume warehousing and/or distribution operation. - High level of interpersonal skills is necessary; able to lead, manage, direct, motivate, and develop positive employee relations. - Administrative skills such as strong organization skills, detail oriented and persistent follow through required. - Must be experienced with material handling equipment (forklift). - Wood working skills highly desired; crate maintenance and specialty crate building. - Basic computer skills required for reports, employee documentation and warehouse locator system. - Must have a valid regular driver’s license, CDL class A is a plus. Other Requirements: - Must pass a background check for DOD installation access. - Pass a DOT physical and drug test. - Motor Vehicle Report must be clean. - Must be flexible with hours...Some days will be longer than others.
