KEY LARGO, FL — A 19-year-old woman fulfilled a longtime goal when she was taken into custody Thursday morning after refusing to pull over for a deputy in the Florida Keys.
Janiya Shaimiracle Douglas of Homestead told Sgt. Robert Dosh with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office that getting arrested has been on her "bucket list" since high school, the agency posted on its Facebook page.
Dosh noticed a car driven by Douglas speeding and driving recklessly on Card Sound Road just before 8 a.m.

(MCSO)He turned on his lights and siren, but she didn't pull over for him. Instead, she continued driving southbound until she finally stopped at the three-way intersection at County Road 905 in Key Largo, the sheriff's office said.
Douglas, whose occupation is listed as a housekeeper on her arrest record, was charged with fleeing and eluding, and taken to Monroe County Jail.
