Description
Press release from the Town of Wakefield:
May 11, 2022
If you're taking advantage of this beautiful weather to do some yardwork, remember that curbside leaf collection is this Saturday, May 14. Yard waste must be curbside prior to 7 a.m. in biodegradable paper bags or barrels. Plastic bags cannot be collected. Please cut branches into 3' lengths or less and tie in bundles no more than 18" in diameter.
Prefer to have disposal access all season? The Nahant Street yardwaste site is available for the disposal of leaves, grass, clippings, shrubs, and brush. A permit is required to obtain access and is available to Wakefield residents only. Permits can be obtained at the DPW office at Town Hall during regular business hours or purchased online. Learn more about the site, view the schedule, and purchase a permit.
While you're out doing cleanup, consider clearing a storm drain near your home. Keeping drains clear of litter, leaves, and other debris protects our lakes and rivers from pollution and ensures that our streets don't flood.
