Description

Learn how to be certified for government contracting as a woman, minority, disadvantaged enterprise or disabled veteran-owned business. The Arkansas Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) and the Startup Junkie Foundation present “How to Become a Certified Woman, Minority, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business for Government Contracting.” This series is in conjunction with the Bank OZK sponsored "HER Entrepreneur Series 2022" to empower women in Arkansas to start and grow small businesses in our state. Light food refreshments and soft drinks, and contract funding options information will be provided to all registered attendees thanks to a Bank OZK sponsorship. The State of Arkansas, local cities, and the federal government offer special set-aside government contracting opportunities for properly certified woman, minority, disabled US veteran, or economically-disadvantaged owned businesses for contracts for goods produced and business services offered for small businesses of all sizes. The Arkansas PTAC is part of a national network of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers working to help small businesses compete successfully in the government marketplace, and its mission is to assist Arkansas small businesses to succeed in obtaining government contracts. Come let presenters Liz Russell, PTAC Counselor of Central and Southwest Arkansas, and Kimberly Randle, PTAC Counselor of Northwest Arkansas, explain to you about the various small business certifications available, and other local and federal free resources to assist you with all aspects of government contracting. They will walk you through the federal and state registrations, rules, and processes needed for your business to sell your products and services to government entities. You can also make an appointment afterwards to meet with them locally for further assistance at the Northwest Arkansas office. A Bank OZK representative will also provide information about bank financing options to help with government contracting business needs.
