GLEN BURNIE, MD — Someone who purchased a Mega 7s scratch-off ticket is now $10,000 richer.
According to the Maryland Lottery, the winner has already claimed their prize last week after buying the ticket at Pop's Grocery and Deli, which is at 7459 E. Furnace Branch Rd. in Glen Burnie.
In all, 38 tickets worth $10,000 or more were either sold or redeemed in the seven days ending May 8, and the Maryland Lottery paid a total of more than $32.1 million in prizes during that span.
State lottery officials encourage players to check their tickets by scanning them at any lottery retailer or with the lottery's mobile apps. Draw game winners have 182 days from the date of a drawing to claim their prizes, and scratch-off winners have 182 days from the announced end-of-game date.
Since its inception in 1973, Maryland Lottery and Gaming has awarded more than $29.8 billion in prizes to lottery players and more than $17.9 billion in lottery revenue to the state.
