Press release from the Urbandale Community School District: May 10, 2022 On May 9, Urbandale High School Vocal Music Director Ted Brimeyer was named the inaugural recipient of the Iowa Choral Directors Outstanding Choral Director for High School/Post-Secondary Schools. Established in 2022, this award recognizes individuals whose work in programs at the experienced and advanced level is exemplary. The ICDA lists these criteria on its website for consideration: The candidate must be a current ICDA member with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Work at the High School / Post-Secondary level must exhibit the qualities of a master teacher. Nominees who have fostered program growth, high performance standards, musical knowledge, community engagement, and who are committed to mentoring those planning careers in music will be given strong consideration.
