Kennedy said the victim informed police that the suspect was a stranger and not someone she knew. He then said Tuscaloosa Police initially responded, made a report, and began searching for the suspect and victim's vehicle. After midnight, at approximately 3 a.m. Friday, TPD officers responded to a second apartment complex, Evolve, located at 680 6th Avenue NE, for a call of a suspicious man. "Upon arrival of patrol units, the suspect fled on foot and officers pursued on foot," Kennedy said. "During the pursuit, a shot was fired from the suspect, and thankfully, no officers were injured." The suspect was taken into custody, Kennedy said, and multiple items from the robbery on Jack Warner Parkway were found in his possession, along with a loaded pistol. Haynes was charged with attempted murder, first-degree robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, and attempting to elude police. Due to his criminal history, which Kennedy said includes multiple pending felony cases, Haynes was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond, pending approval by the courts.
