PHILADELPHIA, PA — Service on a SEPTA regional rail line was briefly suspended after a train struck and killed a person in Philadelphia on Thursday morning, according to authorities and media reports.
The incident occurred just before 8:30 a.m. on State Road, in the Tacony section of Philadelphia, on the Trenton line.
NBC Philadelphia reports the individual that was struck has died.
Service between Trenton and Center City resumed at around 9:30 a.m.
"Trains will bypass Bridesburg and Tacony Stations," SEPTA shared on social media. "Expect residual delays while full operations are restored."
