GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. ARRESTS DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE Aris Sulejmani, 47, of the 4000 block of Denice Court, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding 26-34 mph over the speed limit, no insurance, and was arrested at 1:16 a.m. May 7, after a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Bette Lane. Sulejmani was processed and released after posting his driver's license and a $1,000 bond. A court date of May 27 was assigned. DOMESTIC BATTERY Michael Velissaris, 34, of Glenview, is accused of domestic battery, and was arrested at 3:25 a.m. May 8, in Glenview. He was held for a bond hearing on May 9. LAST WEEK: Fake Police Officer Scams Resident Over 'Outstanding' Tickets INCIDENTS DISORDERLY CONDUCT An employee of a business in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue reported at 3:59 p.m. April 29, a male came into the business and gave them a poem containing sexual content. THEFT An Indiana resident called police at 11:40 a.m. May 3, to report while at a business in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue someone stole their Ruger EC9 handgun.A Glenview resident reported at 5:30 p.m. May 3, someone stole a box of checks from the shared mailroom at a residential building in the 1000 block of Castilian Court.An employee of a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road called police at 8:14 a.m. May 5, to report that at some time the previous day, someone stole their Apple iPhone 13.A Glenview resident reported that at around 6:30 a.m. May 4, while at a business in the 2400 block of Chestnut Avenue someone stole their Element hoodie and keys.A Skokie resident called police at 11:07 a.m. May 5, to report various medications missing from their previous residence in the 3800 block of Cindy Lane.A Glenview resident reported on May 9 that around two to three days before, someone stole 10 to 12 firearms from their residence in the 1900 block of Palmgren Drive. CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO STATE SUPPORTED PROPERTY An employee of the Glenview Park District called police to report that between noon and 9 p.m. May 3, someone damaged the mirrors in the men and women's bathrooms. THEFT OF LOST PROPERTY A Glenview resident reported that at around 8:30 p.m. May 2, they lost their Apple iPhone 12 at a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road. The Find My Phone application indicated the phone was in the 10000 block of Michael Todd Terrace. LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT A Northbrook resident was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to give information at an accident, failure to give notice of an accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, following too closely, following the investigation of a traffic crash which occurred on May 4 near Sanders Road and Milwaukee Avenue. They were released on bond with a court date set for June 13. THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS A Chicago resident reported that between May 4 and May 5, the catalytic converter was stolen from their vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. SPEEDING A Chicago resident was cited at 7:26 p.m. May 5, for speeding (26+mph over the speed limit) in the 4600 block of West Lake Avenue. They were released on an I-bond with a court date set for June 13. DECEPTIVE PRACTICES A Glenview resident reported at 3:28 p.m. May 6, after going online to schedule a COVID-19 booster appointment, they received a message stating their computer was infected with a virus and to click on the screen to contact a Microsoft Technician. After clicking on the screen, they were advised to pay $299.99 with a credit card to resolve the issue. After putting in the credit card information, the victim realized they were scammed and canceled the transaction. UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FRAUDULENT ID CARD A Calumet City resident submitted an online order at 5 p.m. May 6, under a fraudulent name at a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue. The resident came to the business to pick up the order and presented a fraudulent Kentucky Driver's License. The offender left prior to police arrival. CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT A Glenview resident reported that on May 6, someone spray-painted "you a bitch" on the exterior of their residence in the 1100 block of 11th Street. RETAIL THEFT An employee of a business in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 6:35 p.m. May 8, to report seeing a male exit the store with several items without paying for them.
