STILLWATER, MN — The COVID-19 testing site at the Stillwater Armory will administer its last tests Friday with state officials planning to open a new site next week in St. Paul. The Minnesota Department of Health is also closing its testing site at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in downtown St. Paul on Thursday. The state's new community testing site is scheduled to open Monday at the former Herberger's in St. Paul, 1400 University Ave. W. It will offer rapid antigen coronavirus tests from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday each week, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays, officials said. Avian Flu Found In Washington County Wild Birds, 70 Flocks Across MN The new site in St. Paul's Midway neighborhood will provide more consistent testing options for residents than the Stillwater Armory and Roy Wilkins Auditorium, which had to close at various points to accommodate events. The Midway site can provide up to 5,000 tests per day and is located near multiple transit options, officials said. Appointments are encouraged but not required at the Minnesota Department of Health's community testing sites. "As this latest announcement shows, we are continuing to work with community partners to adapt the testing resources to fit the needs and preferences of Minnesotans."
