Second Street Improvements Start May 12 In City Of Davis

Press release from the City Of Davis: May 10, 2022 The City of Davis announced today that a portion of Second Street will be reconstructed and improved from May through August this year from where L Street curves into Second Street to after the Mainstage cannabis dispensary location. This is a full road reconstruction with an addition of a structural curb and gutter on the south side of the road and the restoration of five driveways on the north side of the road (in addition to sidewalk, curb and gutter replacements on that side). There will also be drainage improvements with the installation of drain inlets. Work is tentatively set to begin on Thursday, May 12, by closing the eastbound lane of Second Street in the described work area through approximately mid-June. Cantrill Drive to Fifth Street will be the detour. During this time, the westbound lane in the work area will remain open. In approximately mid-June, the westbound lane in this work area will be closed through the beginning of August. The eastbound lane will be open at this time and once again, Cantrill Drive to Fifth Street will be the detour. Please visit City social media and the City website for project updates.
