Press release from Akron Public Schools: May 10, 2022 The City Series Boys Tennis Championship was held Monday at sun-drenched Hyre Park. Congratulations to Firestone CLC junior Reece Caraboolad who was named the Player of the Year. Reece won the gold medal in the first singles competition. Firestone head coach Craig Sampsel was named Coach of the Year by the league coaches. Winners from the remaining matches include: 2nd Singles - Antonio Alvarez de Ceballos (Firestone) 3rd Singles - Nico Teodosio (Firestone) 1st Doubles - Tanner Contos/Dylan Wargowsky (Ellet CLC) 2nd Doubles - Enzo Lewis Baranyai/Leo Wendler (Firestone) Good luck to all teams in the OHSAA State Tennis tournament this week.
