HOLT, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says a homicide investigation is underway in Holt after two people were found dead in a house fire Thursday morning. Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the multiagency unit, told local media that Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's deputies and VCU investigators are currently at the scene of the burned down house in the 1900 block of Garber Street. He confirmed that the two individuals were found inside the home and were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims have not been released at this time.
