WORCESTER, MA — A former Auburn music teacher was found guilty on Thursday after a three-day trial this week in Worcester. Stephen Jaszek, 66, was charged with two counts of aggravated rape of a child, and one count of aggravated rape of a child under age 14 by a mandated reporter, according to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office. Jaszek was arrested and charged in August 2018 after a former student, now 23 years old, came forward to accuse him of sex assaults that happened a decade prior. All of the assaults took place in a classroom, according to the DA. After his arrest in 2018, Jaszek pleaded not guilty to different charges: four counts of aggravated rape, and one count of aggravated indecent assault and battery on a child under age 14. He was released on bail at the time. Jaszek, a South Hadley resident, retired from teaching in 2014. He will be sentenced on May 20, according to the DA.
