RockErin Kennels LLC has strong reputation for training of hunting and field-competitive retrievers. We seek an individual as an apprentice dog trainer. Successful applicant must enjoy working outdoors, weather permitting, and communicating with and training dogs. Apprentice will be taught how to train retriever dogs for hunting and for field competitions as they complete their assigned duties as an assistant trainer. With time and diligence, a professional retriever trainer has potential to earn high annual salaries. Position requires a responsible person with good work ethics and integrity. Work duties include general care of dogs, assisting owner in training of hunting/competitive field retrievers and maintenance of field training acreages and custom built training ponds. This is a salaried position with potential for increase in annual salary, certain benefits and incentives commensurate with job performance and/or experience and duration of employment. Bonus payments paid annually according to employee performance. Employee has paid vacation days, sick, and personal days that are available after six months of successful employment. Applicant should love dogs and be keen to assist in care and training of dogs while learning how to train retriever breed dogs. Experience in upland/waterfowl hunting, training dogs or horses desired but not essential. Applicants must have their own vehicle, clean driving licence, and live within 20 miles of kennel (east Stillwater) and be able to work July-September in Colorado during summer training and field competition events. It is essential that applicant be comfortable working outdoors, weather permitting. This is a full-time position Monday through Saturday, inclusive, but actual hours per day depend on season of the year and weather.
