PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Four North Shore beaches have been closed after a sewer main blockage caused untreated sewage to flow into a storm drain and out into Hempstead Harbor. Nassau County health officials on Tuesday closed the following four beaches indefinitely as a precaution: North Hempstead Beach Park, Port WashingtonTappen Beach, Glenwood LandingMorgan Beach, Glen CoveSea Cliff Village Beach, Sea CliffThe beaches will remain closed until the county Health Department reviews water quality samples.
