I know this is an odd post and not really sure where to post it. I am looking for a good audiologist or certified hearing aid specialist. My hearing has been compromised due to a chemotherapy drug that was used for my cancer treatment. I have been told that the hearing damage is permanent. I did visit an audiologist in the Torrington area who quite frankly I think was a quack. Additionally this individual showed me different hearing aids and proceeded to tell me that only the $6800.00 hearing aids would work for me. I have an audiogram from the hospital along with indicators of what my loss is in decibels. It is considered a mild hearing loss. Is there anyone out there that is a hearing user that can offer advice? Or someone who knows a trusted audiologist or practitioner? There seems to be a lot of smoke and mirrors and voodoo in this industry for lack of a better way to put it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
