I posted items for sale on this website. I received a call from a person who wanted to buy my items. They sent a text message stating this and asked if they could call now. I texted yes. They then sent a text message askings for a Google Voice code to verify that I was not a robot. Not realizing that this was a scam, I did so. The person never wanted to talk on the phone. I searched on Google Voice to see if this was normal, because Google Voice specifically states to not give someone else your code. Evidently, they can use this code to use Google Voice to make international calls. Later that evening, I opended Google Voice to delete this app, and I deleted my phone number and the number generated by Google Voice from the app. Hopefully, this scam won't affect me. I won't reveal the person's entire phone number (520) _ _ _-0427.
