Substitute Teacher Opportunity Certified Teachers and Non-Certified* Professionals - Job Opportunities In order to create an encouraging learning environment for students while their regular Teacher is absent, the Substitute Teacher will need to effectively manage and instruct the class from roll call through to tidying up the classroom after the students have left. Some of the Substitute Teacher’s duties and responsibilities may include: Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for studentsManage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environmentAdapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual studentSupervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteriaProvide assignments based on the available lesson planFor long-term substitutes: develop lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teacher's past lesson plans Substitutes can select what day(s) they can work as substitutes - based upon your own flexibility. You can work one or more days per month! Needs are in all grades, from Kindergarten to High School. Must be at least 21 years old or older. A criminal background check is also required to be eligible for employment considerations as a substitute teacher. *Non-Certified substitutes must complete a 4-hour training provided by NE Georgia RESA (go to https://negaresa.ascriptica.co... or call Sue Holt at 706-742-8292 ext. 201 for more details). Pay is $60/day for non-certified substitutes (not GA certified teachers).
