EAST HILLS, NY — A service road of the Long Island Expressway in East Hills reopened Tuesday night about a half-hour after it was closed due to an overturned vehicle, police said. The South Service Road was closed around 5 p.m. Tuesday at Roslyn Road, Nassau County police said. Drivers were told to expect delays and asked to avoid the area. The road reopened around 6:30 p.m. The crash came as a separate crash snarled traffic on the westbound lanes of the expressway near Syosset. That crash happened around 5 p.m. near Exit 44S for the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway, according to the state Department of Transportation. The center lane was still blocked 20 minutes later.
