NICE Bus Delays Expected Due to Storm

Public transit officials from the Nassau Inter-County Express — better known by its nickname, the NICE bus — are advising riders to prepare for service delays and detours this Thursday morning due to the season's first snowstorm. The NICE Bus, which has supervisor crews in the field assessing the road conditions this morning, advise that heavy snow has created dangerous road conditions, according to a news release. As of 6 a.m. Thursday, all NICE Bus routes were experiencing 45-minute delays and there are several detours already in place along the North Shore of Nassau County.Officials advised passenger and employee safety "remain the top priority" and officials are advising riders to check with NICE Bus during and after the storm for service changes.
