PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Danford's Hotel, Marina & Spa, a hotel in Port Jefferson, has temporarily laid off the majority of its workforce in the face of the new coronavirus, according to details filed with the New York State Department of Labor. On March 17, 149 of 161 employees of the 25 E. Broadway hotel faced a "temporary plant layoff." The layoffs were as a result of "unforeseeable business circumstances prompted by COVID-19," Danford's Hotel cited on the Department of Labor. The employees are not represented by a union.
