PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY — A man was badly injured in a one-car crash Sunday morning in Port Jefferson Station, Suffolk police said. Joseph Aiello, 43, of Port Jefferson Station, was driving a 2001 Nissan Maxima southbound on Jayne Boulevard when he drove off the road and struck a tree at the intersection with Roe Avenue at around 5:30 a.m., police said. Aiello, who was alone in the car, was admitted to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
