EAST SIDE STORIES is a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing AAPI stories-- one story at a time. Our Mission:East Side Stories paints authentic portraits of the Asian American and Pacific Islander experience through film, media, and education. By nurturing the talents of AAPI creatives through collaborative skill development and support, ESS crafts stories that live within our neighbors and community, and ensures a legacy for AAPI storytellers and audiences in the next generation and beyond. EAST SIDE STORIES 2023 PROGRAMSFilmmaking & Digital Content:Over the last year, our (first) short film, “An Essential Delivery” has earned 6 laurels at various film festivals across the country. We also produced over 40 videos for our Youtube channel, and has collected 20.6K+ views and over 973 hours of watch time. In 2023, we plan doubling our collection of videos on Youtube, as well as submit our short film, “My Mother’s Dream,” and our feature documentary film, “The Walk On,” to film festivals. TogethernESS:ESS collaborates with the community, building bonds locally by creating engaging and dynamic content for local AAPI businesses, organizations, and individuals. Through TogethernESS, we collaborate with our local community to elevate and amplify our collective voices. In the last year, we’ve worked with Michelin Star restaurant Atomix, the Chinatown Business Improvement District, food delivery service Chowbus, and more. In 2023, we want to reach more small businesses and support other local non-profit organizations by offering pro-bono services to people and initiatives in our community.
