JOIN TEXAS RIVER TRIBE for a full day River SUP Canyon Dam Training Adventure! From Canyon Dam, to the top of the horseshoe and back we will navigate the lower Guadalupe ending this great adventure at That Dam Red Barn to celebrate our journey and relax down together with dinner and drinks. Training Includes: Learning an embryological (how our bodies are whole & connected with in and with gravity) myofascial warm up that directly impacts how your body will move and flow with your paddle, board and nature. Experience grounding, opening, centering and flow before you even get on the water to awaken natural reflexes & senses cultivating rhythmical core-coordinated neural pathways from foot to head with Melody Benton. Learning the importance of skilled footwork and paddle techniques like front pivot turns, hop transitions and walking to the nose and back for quick maneuvering through shallow areas, strong currents and riding down and yes even UP rapids (for the MORE advanced paddlers). For an added bonus leave with some unique surf style turning techniques for fun and skill advancement with Macklin Butts. Learning how to read the moving waters to guide you more efficiently, wisely and safely upstream & downstream. Learn how to use your paddle like an outrigger to keep you stable and in flow with the energy of the water. Learn and put to immediate practice techniques and knowledge like ‘eddy hopping”, “ferrying” front pivot turns and important body and feet positioning through rapidly changing waters with Woody Welch. WHAT YOU WILL TAKE AWAY: You will 100% leave this trip a stronger, more knowledgeable paddler & natural mover with increased confidence to navigate through nature! Not to mention we will be sure to capture your unforgettable at ONE WITH Nature experience with high quality action packed photos. This exclusive half day trip is NOT for beginner paddlers. There WILL be strong currents and small rapids to navigate around or through. You must have good river shoes for portaging. DO NOT REGISTER IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER AND HAVE LESS THAN ONE YEAR PADDLE EXPERIENCE. Please contact us directly for questions regarding your skill level. REQUIRED: Life vest, leash (preferably a quick release waist leash), river shoes, hydration, snacks, iphone with waterproof case, dry bags (backpack style are ideal) *We are not requiring helmets for this specific trip, but highly recommend bringing if you will be attempting riding down rapids for the first time. *We will supply waist belts to attach ankle leashes to for those who do not have quick release leashes. *All 3 Paddle Coaches are World Paddle Association Certified bringing their unique and extensive experience and knowledge to create a RARE & ENRICHED experience for you.
