Want to homestead with goats and chickens but don't know where to start? Come take our class! Welcome to Flowertown Charm Farm, an urban mini farm located in Summerville, SC right outside of Charleston. We are a husband & wife team, Chris & Jenna Pelayo both born and raised in Hawaii, and moved to the mainland where we could afford our dream of doing the following... We are known for our fun goat yoga classes, farm snuggle sessions, paint & wine with goats art classes, and we also host guest rooms in our historic farmhouse Bed & Breakfast. We sell our farm goods like chicken eggs, raw honey, homemade goat milk soaps, etc .And we have learned to make a living from our love of our farm & home. You can follow us and our farm @flowertowncharm We often get visitors to our mini farm who want advice on where to start their own farms, so we thought we should start a class on it! The class will be 2 hours long, completely hands on, up close and personal to the goats and chickens, and we will teach you all about them! We currently raise registered Nigerian Dwarf Goats for goat milk & breeding, and have a variety of fun chicken breeds for both laying and breeding. We also have on our farm Mini Scottish Highland cows, Kune Kune pigs, honey bee hives, barn cats, and a Great Pyrenees, @winterthefarmdog The focus will be on the goats and chickens for this class. You will learn the daily care, maintenance, housing, feeding, water systems, supplies/medicines, bedding, breeds, where to start, pros/cons, and what they can provide for you. We want you to leave here ready to go get your first chickens or goats, or even go home with one ;) We will have baby goats born here around April 4-12, 2022 + we are also currently hatching silkie chicks. They will be for sale if you are ready to take the leap! This class is meant for folks 14+, as it will be mostly talking, learning, and answering questions. We do offer "farm snuggles sessions" that are more geared for children.
