The social factors of overconsumption
The first is conformity. Conformity refers to that individuals unconsciously conform to the majority due to the influence of group behavior. Young people lack self-consciousness and it is difficult to form their own judgment. When they see that everyone around them owns something, they ignore their own needs and follow the trend of buying in order to keep in line with others. A survey shows that in the current mobile Internet environment, college students show strong conformity consumption.
