WAYLAND, MA — The Wayland Town Clerk has released unofficial results from the 2022 spring election. The 2022 election featured three competitive races, with three candidates vying for a single select board seat, two newcomers running for a single open Wayland School Committee seat, and a three-person race for the recreation commission. Wayland voters were also asked to approve two levy limit increases: one for the design and construction of a new community center and Council on Aging facility near the intersection of Route 20 and Andrew Avenue near the Stop & Shop plaza; and a second for a new grass sports field complex at the Loker Conservation Area. According to unofficial results, about 2,348 people voted in the 2022 election, which is about 22 percent turnout. By comparison, 1,619 voters cast a ballot in 2021, a turnout rate of 15 percent. The last pre-pandemic election in 2019 had about 22 percent turnout.
