LINDENHURST, NY —On May 17, voters in the Lindenhurst Union Free School District will head to the polls to vote for the district's proposed 2022 to 2023 budget. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at five polling locations: Albany Avenue, Daniel Street, Harding Avenue, and William Hall Elementary Schools and Lindenhurst Middle School. Your polling location is determined by where you live. You can check the district's website to find your polling location. The proposed 2022-23 spending plan is $177,638,786. The adopted budget contains a tax levy increase of 1.85 percent. This increase falls under the district's allowable tax cap of 2.77 percent, the district said. Residents will also have the opportunity to vote on expenditures from the capital reserve fund to finance projects for improvements to Lindenhurst High School to expand educational and vocational programs.
