Restaurant Owner Sentenced In Fatal Shooting

PORT CHESTER, NY — A southern Westchester man will be spending time in prison for fatally shooting someone outside his restaurant. Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark said Monday that Kenton Connerly, 52, of Port Chester, was sentenced to 20 years in prison and five years' post-release supervision. Connerly was found guilty by a jury Dec. 13 of first-degree manslaughter and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. "The defendant, a restaurant owner, shot his former employee's husband when they went to pick up her paycheck," Clark said. "The defendant took a life because of a disagreement over money. He will now spend many years in prison for his actions." According to prosecutors, on the evening of Sept. 29, 2017, Lorenzo Daley, 29, went to Connerly's restaurant, "Simply Seafood," at 2542B White Plains Road in the Bronx, with his wife. She was a former employee and they were going to pick up her paycheck. A fight erupted between Connerly and Daley. Daley and his wife left the restaurant and Connerly followed with a gun. Connerly pistol-whipped Daley in the head and the firearm went off once, striking the victim in the neck.
